Wrycan is actively working to integrate several authoring environments into the XMS so that authors and editors can access XMS functionality seamlessly through their preferred editing tool. Through a web services API, users are able to perform many XMS operations, such as publishing, workflow and validation, directly from their authoring tool.

Editors that are currently integrated include:

• Altova's XML Spy, an XML editor and XML development environment for modeling, editing, debugging, and transforming all XML technologies, and Authentic, a FREE XML and database content editor that allows non-technical business users to view and edit data in XML documents and relational databases without being exposed to the underlying technology.
• Information Mapping's Content Mapper 3.1.x, a Microsoft ® Word-based XML authoring and publishing tool that works as a front-end to content management systems. Content Mapper provides a simple, yet powerful set of standards to support authors.
