The backbone of the Wrycan XMS is the XMS Repository, consisting of the Logical Content Model (LCM), a Rendition Layer, and Content Store.
The LCM takes a content-centric view of documents to cut across heterogeneous or changing XML models. It helps to manage the
complexity of XML, leveraging its power without the limitations of a single XML model. The LCM allows content to be converted and upgraded while maintaining its meaning through the application of a consistent view.
The Rendition Layer analyzes documents and maps them to the Logical Content Model. Relationships between items of content are understood and
preserved as links between content, associations, and metadata correlations. Files themselves are versioned in the Content Store with full
locking and access control features.
